Is The Tattoo Sleeve Design Best For You?
tattoo sleeves
When they are done by a talented artist, tattoos can be works of art. Tattoo sleeves are becoming more popular, and people are wearing their art proudly.
Sleeve Tattoo Ideas
A tattoo can be placed anywhere where there is skin. The most common place, traditionally has been the arm. Now, people are taking that one step further.
Sleeve tattoo designs have become the new canvas for many artists. A tattoo sleeve is an image, or series of images, that covers your entire arm, showing very little bare skin. The tattoo artist covers every inch with intricate designs, pictures, and patterns.
As a rule, sleeve tattoo designs are found on the arms. Most commonly, there are three kinds of tattoo sleeves, though variations can occur. The first is a full sleeve, starting at the shoulder and ending at the wrist. The second is a half sleeve, which goes from the shoulder to the elbow. Finally, there is a quarter sleeve that starts at the shoulder and ends at the bicep. Though a sleeve tattoo is most common on the arm, it is not entirely limited to this application. Sleeve tattoos can be placed on legs, as well. The only rule is that a sleeve tattoo must wrap around the entire arm or leg.
The most important part of choosing a tattoo sleeves is careful planning. This will be very time consuming. Placement of images and designs is very important, so you will need to pay attention to every detail.
You can get anything from a religious tattoo sleeve to a tribal sleeve tattoo. The best way to start is to look through a sleeve tattoo gallery for ideas. Finding or designing the best tattoo sleeve design can be difficult, but it will be worth it in the end. A well thought out sleeve can be a work of art. However, lack of planning will result in a mess, and a huge disappointment.
One thing that you will definitely have to prepare yourself for is the cost of a sleeve tattoo. The price will be considerable, and so with the time you will need to put into it. Tattoo sleeves can take up to, and in excess of twenty hours to complete, depending on the design. Usually, a tattoo sleeve is done in a series of one-hour sittings. This means that you will potentially need to go back to the shop over twenty times to complete the work, and spend thousands of dollars in the process.
Getting a sleeve tattoo will take a great deal of commitment on your part, so make sure it is what you want before you get started. You will spend a lot of money and time on this project, especially if you get a full sleeve, so you need to be absolutely sure. Don’t rush your decision, and certainly don’t rush the planning process. This will be permanent, so you need to make sure that your design is carefully planned out before proceeding. If you have chosen a skilled and talented tattoo artist, they will be able to help you plan a sleeve tattoo that you will be proud of.

Subscribe to Tattoo magazine. I found it very helpful. I am in process of getting a full sleeve done. since nothing had a special meaning to me, i let my artist decide, and he came up with Onna Bugeisha and cherry blossoms and lotus flowers. It`s awesome. In the end, there has to be something that appeals to you, and no one else, since you`ll be stuck with it for the rest of your life. Once your artist comes up with an idea, you can throw in your opinion as well, and it will look great when finished. Just be ready financially. Full sleeve will cost you a pretty penny, if you want it completely covered and shaded.
Good luck.

You shouldn’t take someone else’s idea for sleeves. You should come up with something on your own that means something to you.

The good thing about sleeves is that you can work so much into them, or you can have one big design. I have one full sleeve of a japanese snake with japanese water and cherry blossoms around it, and I’m in the process of getting the other arm done with lots of different things.
Just think of all the images that mean something to you, take them to your tattooer and ask him/her to work them into a cool design.

most people that are sleeved have a collection of tattoos that they get over time. i would never let someone else decide what tattoo permanently goes onto my body.
artist do really well of combining and shading backgrounds to incorporate ideas together, but that’s as far as I’ve let an artist go…
content, color and style, you should decide. just incorporate things in your life that are important, family, friends, past, your future. things you like, music, artists, nature? anything and everything you love and has importance to you.
because you have to wear it.

Not great, but they worked,
The color on them is an odd color of orange. I don’t know anyone with that skin color unless they spray a tan on. After they stretch out it isn’t terrible, but I don’t know why they chose that color. They are plenty long if you wear a shirt with sleeves, but won’t quite cut it for sleeveless. The fabric seems like it would last thru a few wearings. They are a bit tight on my arms, but I’m a bigger guy (about 250) and I lift weights. Also, a female friend of mine who is probably 130 pounds wore them and they fit her well, so they fit a wide range of arm sizes.

|These Were Fun….,
These Tattoo Sleeves were a great part of my husbands Halloween costume. He got many interested looks and compliments. The only downside was the length. He has pretty big arms, and the sleeves were just a little short. Had to find a T-shirt that had long enough sleeves to hide the top of the tattoo. All in all it was definitely worth it.

|Too Tan,
The image is misleading for this product. WHile the designs are the same, the color of the sleeve is way too clay/red. Not only that, but it’s rather larger so those of us without well built arms look like we’re wearing loose panty hose. To make matters worse, the seam in the sleeve randomly cuts the design — they do not match up at all.
Would not recommend this product if you actually want it to look real.

@Shawnbodybuilder21zz don’t listen to this guy arms are the EASIEST places to get tattoos. I’ve got well over 100 hours worth of ink and arms were def the easiest
How long in total did it take.
Your first tattoo is hilarious
i want to get a sleeve like my whole arm all the way to my wrist i hate the half sleeves but the tattoo still looks cool
depends on your exposure to the sun. if ur in the sun alot a whole lot on a regular basis without sunblock (not sunscreen) u drasticaly fade your tattoo. if your in the sun everynow and then to do normal everyday activites in the sun. (driving, cutting the grass etc.) ur tattoo will be good for about 13 years. and then jus go get em touched up ya kno.
if they get minimum exposure they can look good for about 10 years
thats bad ass! how much would something like that cost?
if i get a real tat i might get one across my back up by my houlders that says Chaos with dripping in blood and on blue fire AHHHHHH that sounds awesome
the artist looks a bit like Ricky from the Trailer Park Boys :p
Decided to get a full sleeve tattoo, with the famous koi fish swimming up water among other things( flowers, writing etc). Though about this for now 2 years, and without going into detail the tattoo rly has a meaning to me, being born in Asia and living there for 6 years among other reasons. Anyways; Can anyone give me an estimation of how long the tattoo will look good? This is if i dont expose it to sunlight, go to a profesional shop, take good care of skin/tattoo. Any xperience any1?
its in fast mo look at the guys arm thats getting it on his stomach its like hes having a panic attack!
